Cable TV Woes

Does anyone have a few movie CDs to spare? If yes, please lend them to our cable operator. He seems to have run out of his stock – the last one he played was 'Best of Ayub Khan', a collection of songs of movies starring Ayub Khan (for those who don't know who this guy is, he's the one who played Preity Zinta's fiancé Rohit in DCH) The songs are from his utterly rubbish films, mostly with him running around trees with actresses like Neelam in long skirts. You can see him riding a horse in a military suit in one song, playing golf and later polo in another and then dancing with the heroine and other 100 girls behind in yet another. Regarding the CDs that you will lend, please make sure they don't have 'SADAF' covering half the film, because the other half will be covered by the cable guys with scrolling advts of Birthday wishes, and upcoming schools and housing societies. The first afternoon since the vacations started, when I'd to rely on the TV for some entertainment and...the Cable operator steps up to play best of Ayub Khan :-X What the hell was the cable guy thinking??? Damn this remote control – the buttons seem to have stuck!!!

  3. Going jhingalala is one option. But you may loose the excitement that comes with cable TV. With cable TV, before every dinner we are all excited about the movie that he may play.
Though its different story that most of the times our excitement is turned down when he plays some Mithun's movie and we feel like throwing the remote on the TV set. But the next evening we are all set again with the excitement and waiting for him to play some new film from the screens. Just like we saw India play South Africa even though we lost against England and West Indies. A new day brings new hope.
Our hopes for victory shall never die.

  7. I remember the time when I used to hate the kind of movies having songs with actors running around trees with cheaply designed attempt-to-skimpy fluorescent colored clothes. But now, I enjoy them more than any well produced movie. The fun level is unmatched. The stupidity they manage to achieve makes me believe that they are the most courageous film-folks having their hearts faithful to the audience's about-to-snap tolerance level. Kudos to the B-grade. \m/

  8. Okay,here are my options:

1.if you already dont have one,get an external hard drive [nahich 300-400 gb tar 1-2terrabytes tari] and collect all movies all your friends have and watch them on your computer.

2.Tata sky! they even have a channel called Mahua tv which shows bhojpuri films.watch for 5 minutes and your entire day is made [?] I cant imagine now how i ever lived without the "i" button on the remote. Most Tata sky subscribers will agree with me here.

3.Watch Ramsay brothers movies.I think they put some on every thursday morning on Zee Cinema.
I totally agree with Shreyas,he fun quotient is unmatched! Movies from the 90's are the most imaginative ones I've ever seen.

4.feel lucky that atleast its Ayub Khan.My cable wala never crossed the 70's.And all were unknown films, mind you.
